In the 1990s, more than 16,000 weaving mills operated in Rhône-Alpes, today there are less than 3,000 left.
Seeing this know-how disappear, Max Arnaud, a young 39-year-old businessman, started in 1998 to create his own textile company, Alina Textiles.
Alina Textiles specializes in technical weaving. For more than 20 years now, the company has been weaving technical fabrics for specialized use in the medical, defense and aerospace sectors.
In addition to the weaving mills, the factory has two warping machines. The warping machine is used to prepare the warp to be used during weaving. Alina Textiles is one of the only two companies that make custom warp in France.
In 2016, after years of experience in technical weaving, Max is looking to find a way to combine its production and distribution, to bring the consumer as close as possible to the final product, without, however, competing with Alina’s customers.
Thus, after a period of reflection, consultation and research, the Dresseur de Tables brand was born in November 2016. A complete range of 100% French table linen. A range that combines know-how, quality and values, available at selected points of sale.
The French manufacture of table linen seemed obvious as an option. This manufacturing cycle makes it possible to control quality, cost and deadlines. In addition to securing jobs at Alina Textiles, it further promotes local employment, respects the environment through ecologically aware partners and revitalizes the endangered French textile industry.
The whole manufacturing process is done in France and we can say exclusively in Rhône-Alpes, since the most distant cooperating company is 132 km away from Romans-sur-Isère. Finishing is done in Chessy-les-Mines, manufacturing in Lentilly, Sainte-Sigolène or Valence and weaving in Romans-sur-Isère in our workshops.
